I unzipped the Epson12181.exe file into an empty folder - Scantest. I entered Scantest into the input field in the Install from Disk window and clicked OK. In the Update Driver software Perfection1200 screen I hi-lighted Epson Perfection 4990 and clicked Next. Then received an Update Driver Warning screen followed by a Windows Encountered a problem.... screen. Tried all possible ways and nothing is working for me. I am no expert when it comes to installing drivers, I must be pointing somewhere at the wrong file. Thanks for your help Tom I must be the only person in the world who can’t get Equinox’s solution to work. I unzipped the Epson12181.exe file into an empty folder – Scantest.
